Once the cantaloupe have been harvested, they are driven to the "Cooler" or "Packing House" to be cooled and shipped. We drive 16 bins to the cooler at a time.

One bin of cantaloups weights 650 pounds and holds between 110 to 170 melons, depending on the size.

The trucks are unloaded by forklift
The canatloupes are put on a line that washes & labels them

The cantaloupe are run through a line which washed them, labels them and worker are monitoring to make sure each melon meets our high standards. Once they are clean and labeled, then they are place in boxes for shipping.

They are then placed in a Pre Cooler
It takes approx. 3 to 4 hours to cool the melon to 38 degrees
The boxes are stored in the Cooler until the trucks arrive
The truck normally pick up the melons the same day they are harvested, to deliver to your local store
